Annette van Schagen
Annette van Schagen is a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, working in the inpatient clinic of ARQ Centrum ‘45. The inpatient clinic provides diagnostic assessment and treatment of patients with complex posttraumatic stress disorders.
She received her postgraduate clinical training to become a healthcare psychologist and further on clinical psychologist and psychotherapist in secondary mental healthcare. She has experience with diverse psychiatric disorders and diverse settings, both inpatient as outpatient. Also she knows diverse psychotherapeutic approaches, e.g. CBT, NET, EMDR, systemic and family therapy, schema therapy and group psychotherapy. She holds a PhD from Utrecht University, the subject of her PhD-thesis being the prevalence and treatment of nightmares in patients in secondary mental healthcare. She is an assistant educator in the postgraduate specialist training for clinical psychologists at the RINO Groep in Utrecht.
She is a trainer and supervisor of the postgraduate trainee healthcare psychologists and trainee clinical psychologists, and supervises several clinical research projects. She is a registered cognitive behavioural therapist and psychotherapy supervisor.
