drs J.C.G. (Jeannette) Lely
Jeannette Lely is a psychotherapist and researcher at ARQ Centrum ’45 / ARQ National Psychotrauma Centre. She studied Clinical and Health Psychology at Leyden University (cum laude). As a clinician, since 2000 she was involved in the treatment of patients with traumatic war experiences. Twice she went on a mission for Doctors Without Borders (MSF) as a mental health trainer: to Sri Lanka and to DR Congo. As a researcher she is working on her PhD research-project “Narrative Exposure Therapy for older adults: a randomized controlled trial”. In this RCT, the effectiveness of Narrative Exposure Therapy is compared with Present Centered Therapy. This study is a joint project of Utrecht University and ARQ National Psychotrauma Centre. Promotors are prof. dr. R.J. Kleber en prof. dr. J. van den Bout. The project is funded by Fonds Nuts Ohra and ARQ Centrum ’45.
