Since 2014 Jurriaan is working for Impact Foundation. As a junior policy advisor and PhD. candidate he is involved in several projects, such as the DAPPR project (dealing with aggression) and psychosocial peer support for high risk professions. He is also conducting a large meta-synthesis of psychosocial support in the Netherlands since the 1992 Bijlmermeer flight disaster. His PhD. research at the Utrecht School of Governance (Utrecht University) focusses on professionalism in the acute and recovery phase during disasters and crises. He specifically looks at quality management and increasing complexity in the psychosocial domain. In 2015 Jurriaan finished the research master Research in Public Administration and Organizational Science. His thesis dealt with inter-professional collaboration in a transnational domain in the Dutch Urban Search and Rescue Team.
